GoalLinked (“we”, “us”) operates goallinked.co.uk. We are the data controller for personal data processed through this website under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Contact: privacy@goallinked.co.uk.
What we collect
Account data: username, email address, a securely hashed password (we never store your actual password), your chosen club, and optional bio. Content: posts, comments, votes, predictions, quiz answers and game scores. Technical data: IP address (used briefly to stop login abuse), and server logs kept by our hosting provider.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
To provide your account and the games (contract); to keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse (legitimate interests); to send password-reset emails you request (contract); and, where you agree, to show personalised advertising (consent).
Cookies
We set one essential cookie (gl_session) to keep you logged in and protect forms. We remember that you dismissed the cookie notice in your browser's local storage. We use Google AdSense to show adverts; Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. What other people can see
Your username, club, bio, posts, comments, influence and game stats are public. Your email address is never shown.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Account settings; this erases your profile, posts, comments, votes, predictions and scores immediately. Login-attempt records are deleted after 24 hours.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or erase your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent, by emailing privacy@goallinked.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
GoalLinked is intended for users aged 13 and over.
Processors
We use our web host to store data in the UK/EU, and Google for advertising. We do not sell your personal data.
